Quintessence Films is a production company and agency specializing in commercials, music video and film production. Founded by Michele Civetta in 2004, Mr. Civetta brought years of experience directing spots for commercial clients ranging from Martini & Rossi, Bacardi, Badoit, Cingular Wireless, Dunkin' Donuts, to Coca Cola. Quintessence now boasts a talented roster of innovative directors including Asia Argento, Larry Clark, James Franco, and Jonathan Caouette. In 2006 Quintessence produced the DVD musical film companion to the Capitol Records release of Sean Lennons Friendly Fire starring Lindsay Lohan, Asia Argento, Jordana Brewster, Carrie Fisher & Devon Aoki. Later that year Quintessence produced a a retrospective concert film for Yoko Ono directed by Mr. Civetta and a short film for the New York Times. In 2009 Quintessence produced a series of 42 films for 42 Below Vodka/ Bacardi in affiliation with Agnes B. based on Dreams. The project premiered at the Beijing Modern art Museum and then the Cannes Film Festival. An international slate of directors created films including David Lynch, Gaspar Noe, Kenneth Anger, Harmony Korine, Sergei Bodrov, Larry Clark and Mike Figgis. Most recently Quintessence initiated a new directors series of films for fashion brand Hogan with a lead off 3-D film by Larry Clark to premiere during Milan fashion week fall 2010. Quintessence is currently in pre-production on a film based on Ryu Murakami?s international bestseller Coin Locker Babies in Japan. The film is a co-production between Don Murphy's Angry Films (Natural Born Killers, Bully, Transformers) and the French studio Wild Bunch (City of God, Irreversible, Che) and stars Gael Garcia Bernal, Jamie Cambell Bower, Rinko Kikuchi, Asia Argento, Tadanobu Asano and Val Kilmer. Also in development are feature adaptations of the life of the Chevalier de Saint George and Yasushi Innoues The Hunting Gun.
